Michaela says hello

Hi my name is Michaela and I’m going to tell you a little bit about South Africa.

First of all South Africa is just like any other country, we have cars and beaches, but South Africa is a tiny bit different.

South Africa is a country which has humid towns like Knysna and windy place like Cape Town, and it also has game parks and markets. Cape Town isn't a place filled with lions and hippos like you would think. We have malls company's and organic markets.

I go to a school called Micklefield. Micklefield girl's have values; we have to be honest, respectful, responsible and friendly. We get assessed on these values every term.


I’m one of the musical students and it’s one of my talents.I also play sports like hockey and tennis.

    Hi, my name's Giuseppe Ruocco, I live in Sant Agnello, near Naples.
    I have seen photos of your school and I like very much it! I go to Agostino Gemelli school in Sant Agnello. Here the schools are very different from your school. At our school we do P.E. in a little gym and in our school we haven't a park.
    I like playing the guitar so I love music. I like swimming - I do competitive swimming.

    HI Michaela
    Good luck for your exam! when is it? Here when someone must do an exam, we say "In bocca al lupo", and then you must say "crepi", for good luck!
    What musical instrument do you play - how long have you played it?
    I like playing the guitar and I do it since 3 years. I like playing rock music, which music do you like playing.
    At our school we only play sport in P.E. Volleyball or basketball, because our gym is very small. Many children play sport in private clubs: football, volleyball, tennis, basketball or swimming. I do swimming.
    My town is special because I have lots of friends here and I like the beach here. What about you, do you like where you live? why?

    Mi piacerebbe fare un barbeque a Natale...però qui fa molto freddo a Natale. Stiamo a casa e mangiamo cibi a base di pesce. Giochiamo a tombola e mangiamo molto!

    I'd like to visit your town. I like big cities but I also like my town because here are all my friends. Don't you worry for the exams, I think you will be very good.
    I like playing country pop or rock music, I also like listening to rap and hip-hop music and jazz, which music do you like listening to? I like doing shopping in Piano di Sorrento, a town near mine. Do you like shopping? Good luck for the exams - when are they?

    It's good to here from you .The sports we do at school are hockey,netball,tennis and swimming . I am also so nervous for my exam I'm playing Grade 3 in cello. I really like playing Jazz .We also have clubs for sports my dad started a group for hockey.I live in Rondebosch in Cape Town I like Cape Town because of the different places like the shopping mall you can go to with you friend and kirsenbosch the botanical gardens. Your Christmas sounds like so much fun.

    Today we saw a little film about Cape Town, it was very good. Can you tell me some more about the World Cup stadium?
    I like playing rock and pop music. I like listening to Tommy Emmanuel, a famous guitarist and I like the American song, "Happy".

    The cape town stadium was really built for the world cup for soccer . I really love the way it was built .
    I would really like to know what is your favourite type of music is. I really don't know what type of music is my favourite. I really hope you have a nice holiday. hope we can keep in contact through e-mail . the holidays are coming and if you want to know I will be at home during the holiday so if you want to send a message I'll be at home
